ANCIENT ROMAN FRAGMENT BEADS: These beads are made from ancient Roman or Phoenician (date unknown) glass fragments from a bracelet or necklace that was found in Afghanistan. Although they may appear to be made of some other material due to their coarseness, they are actually an early form of glass. Please note the shape of these fragments, as they were made with an intentional curve to adjust to the wrist or neck and the little clumps and color that the Romans added to make these beads more decorative and to ward off the “evil eye.” Very delicate!
