BERBER SILVER PENDANTS: These handcrafted antique silver pendants were made by the Berbers, the name under which are included the various branches of the indigenous “Libyan” race of North African. Since the dawn of history, the Berbers have occupied the tract between the Mediterranean and the Sahara from Egypt to the Atlantic. Unlike the Arabs in larger towns, the Berbers maintain their love of dramatic jewelry executed in simple good taste and their designs are reminiscent of medieval Europe. Silver symbolizes purity and honesty to the Berbers.
